2011 Call for Submissions

Every Victim Matters - Youth Multimedia Art Show

As part of National Victims of Crime Awareness Week (April 10 - 16, 2011), the Edmonton Restorative Justice Network (ERJN) invites young people between the ages of 12 - 24 to express themselves on the issue of “Every Victim Matters”.

This exhibition, which will be shown April 11 -12, 2011 at Latitude 53 Gallery, is an exciting opportunity to:

Artistically express your thoughts and feelings on what it means to be a victim of crime, know a victim of crime, or suffer from bullying, racism, homophobia and other types of injustice.

Share and show your work in a public gallery

Win one of two $300 grand prizes (12-16 year old & 17-24 year old categories)

This will be the show’s third year. The 2010 youth multimedia art show featured drawing, painting, sculpture, dance, spoken word and rap performances from 69 youth artists and was attended by over 210 people, including Mayor Mandel. Three television stations, CBC Radio, Edmonton Journal and Vue Weekly reported on the opening reception and show. The perspectives of youth matter! We want your voice heard!

Deadline for Artwork Submissions and Forms: Wednesday March 23, 2011

Please limit submissions to one per artist.

Please contact Hannah Heaton, Project Manager, for any questions and for an electronic Submission Form.
