Call For Submissions
Every Victim Matters Youth Art Show
As part of National Victims
of Crime Awareness Week (April 21 - 27, 2013), the Edmonton Restorative Justice
Network (ERJN) invites young people between the ages of 12 - 24 to express
themselves on the issue of “Every
Victim Matters”.
The theme for NVCAW 2013 is “We All Have a Role” All Canadians can play a role in helping victims
of crime access the services available to them. The first level of support for
many victims of crime is family and friends. NVCAW 2013 provides a backdrop for
a national discussion about the laws, services and programs available for
victims of crime at the community, provincial, territorial and federal level.
This Youth Art Show is an
exciting opportunity to:
·
Artistically express
your thoughts and feelings on what it means to have a role in helping victims
of crime, and how you can support others who are suffering from bullying,
racism, homophobia and other types of injustice.
·
Share and show your work
in a public exhibition
·
Win one of two $300
grand prizes (12-16 year old & 17-24 year old categories)
The fourth annual Every
Victim Matters youth art show will be on display from April 21 – 27, 2013. Last year the exhibition featured
drawing, painting, sculpture, installation, video, rap, poetry, music, and art
performances from youth. The perspectives of youth matter! We want your voice
heard!
